The Wine T-shirt

I ended up changing my plan and focused on the elements of the design I actually liked, in this case the wine glasses.

This wine T-shirt design was actually intended to be a cat shirt design. My plan was to have a cat in a wine glass but I was not happy with the cat graphic I drew. I ended up changing my plan and focused on the elements of the design I actually liked, in this case the wine glasses.

I decided I would market this shirt to the female market from ages twenty one and above. Having this in mind, the fonts I used for the text were cursive and girly.

Research

The research for this shirt was done through google, searching for images of glasses and cats. I then used my favorite images for inspiration and drew drafts of the shirt. I drew my drafts the old fashioned way, using pencil and paper.

Illustrator

Again I used the Adobe program, Illustrator. The main tools I used were the text tool, pen tool, brush tool and shape builder tool. The shape builder tool is my favorite to use because it can both connect shapes and make new ones.

Process

I used my initial drawing on paper as a template and outlined it with the pen tool and brush tools. After I was happy with my graphics, I used the text tool to look for a font that worked with the design. I like to copy and paste every item of the design, editing only the text to see which one is my favorite.

 Saving The File

I saved the file found on this page as png. The first image on the site is a png with a shirt template so that it can better represent what it will look like on a shirt.

I also saved a second image as a 15x18in transparent png which is the specific file type for selling on  Amazon.

Who do you think the target market for this shirt is? How can I improve these T-shirt designs?

Thank you,

Perla
